Over the years I have progressively realised that painting is difficult. Ability and talent are not the only requirements needed, others are: patience, strength of feeling, a keenness of intuition and a willingness to place demands on yourself that another person or institution doesn’t. Putting all of these things together is problematic. Putting them together a painting is made.
