My artwork always returns to the theme of ‘The Family’. My current works reflect the interactions between mothers and children. Having just lost my own mother the grieving process has sharpened those feelings of what it is like to be a mother and a daughter. Despite recognising the individual personalities of my children and grandchildren there is a thread of genetic similarity that runs through them that becomes evident as I work on my paintings.
